Sophia Zey is a pianist and soprano who lives in Milwaukee, WI.  She has performed numerous times as an opera coach and pianist sub for the Lyric Opera of Kansas City, and performed at LOKC special events with several young artists.  She attended Aspen Music Festival as a Fellowship Opera Coach for the Aspen Opera Center, where she coached students from all over the world with a focus on French diction and Berlioz’ opera Béatrice et Bénédict. As a soprano, she has performed the roles of “Flora” (UMKC Turn of the Screw), “Papagena” (UMKC Magic Flute), and “Nella” (Luther College Gianni Schicchi).  She won the Distinction in Accompaniment Award and Competition from Luther College.  Most recently, she performed with the Des Moines Metropolitan Opera for part of their Opera Iowa Tour.

She holds a B.A. Music Performance from Luther College, and a M.M. Vocal Performance from the University of Kansas City-Missouri’s Conservatory of Music and Dance.  She is currently freelancing in the Milwaukee metropolitan area as an opera coach, pianist, and voice teacher. She also freelances as a remote web developer.
